For three years, we looked out the window of our living room through a blur of colour options. There were six potential colour blocks hugging the walls of next to the window sill. Porters Paint, Dulux and Tubmans. All iterations of green; dark, light, blueish, blackish. None of them stuck and decision fatigue set in for three years. Covis enters from stage left resulting in some serious days in bed and many more long mornings lounging (recovering) during the Easter holidays. I emerged determined to paint the house green. Three weeks later tah-dah!! It’s done at long last. What do you think? I absolutely love it, which is a relief, as no doubt it would never have been finished if I wasn’t annoyingly satisfied. All the while I have listened to some brilliant audio books and podcasts, found a different kind of inspiration, while finding a long-awaited proper reason to dive deep into homewares, soft furnishings and pendant lights. It’s making me so smug. So here’s to maybe doing some long put off projects to get your mojo kick started as this freeeeeeezing weather kicks off our Australian winter. Sxxx

While painting, I was completely taken by You could make this place beautiful, by famed poet Maggie Smith on audiobook. A memoir of her discovery of self after divorce. I’m not even sure why I started listening to Maggie’s book - but my parents separated, then divorced when I was 12 , so it certainly had my ear, hurt my heart, consoled and also inspired. Above all beautifully written.
The impact of glucose high’s and low’s on your mood and life in general via Feel Better, Live More. Don’t yawn, it’s a brilliant listen that I have already shared with lost of friends. Not a quick listen at 2h 5m but I’m inspired. Bottom line is that if you can flatline your glucose you’re in a good place - and the tips on how to do that are make so much sense and really tap into our old school cultural ways of eating. IE veggies first, then protein, then carbs, then sugar.
And cause all that’s a bit heavy; Dijanna Mulhern, author of ‘Red Carpet Oscars’ on So I Quit My Day Job is a fun listen if you’ve been watching outfits flow off the red carpet this week.

I love Scotland. I love Miriam Margolyes. So ABC’s Miriam & Alan: Lost in Scotland has been my wind down watch this week.
I think Kate Berry is an amazing woman, full of endlessly good ideas. I’ve always wanted to interview her but Pandemonium has already done that! How good is OK Motels? I’d never heard of it.
Here Sophie Dahl writes about beating the January blues but she lives in the UK: so it seems like a good ode to adhere to as we start to see Winter splinter through. I love her.

Hi Skye, good timing on the green, I also painted a bedroom green this Easter. Yours is an excellent green. Green is a tricky colour depending on the light coming in.. our old house is so dark anything green looks slightly blue!
Looking forward to exploring the full suite of your newsletter, it’s tricky to know what you are missing out on.
