Today is Father’s Day. When I think about all the dads in my life, I feel love and admiration. Love for their devotion to their families. Love for the way a little face beams when they look up to their grandfather. Love for the big bear hug embrace. Admiration for their ability to appear cool, calm and collected - even when they are not. And admiration for their desire to do more, give more and be more.
To all the dads and father figures - today I toast my Sunday morning cuppa to you, the world is a better place because you’re in it.
If today is hard for you, I hope you can find a sweet memory to make you smile. Sending you strength and support.
There’s a change happening. Warm air. Pollen. Whirlywinds. The days are getting longer and creatures, great and small, are seeking respite under a shady tree when the sun is high in the sky. And so signals the start of a new month, and with it, a new season. Welcome to September. Thea x

Matrescence is a new word in our vocabulary, but this article, ‘Understanding Matrescence’, takes example of how European countries are taking the brain changes that occur during pregnancy and early childhood seriously, and removing the capitalist motivation that currently drives motherhood: that a mother should care for her child unpaid and undervalued.
