The Mid-Week Missive

How much do you love your local pub? For me, us, all the locals, our nearest pub The Royal Hotel at Dalton is so important and so loved.

Our local is easy, there’s space, like heaps of it, for the kids to run around outside, the food is scrummy, the beer garden is beautiful and the part we love the most is that owners are legends. They’re open to new ideas - I’ve held a flower workshop there - they’re invested in the community themselves, they know our children by name and which footy team they follow and it’s easy to sit and chat with them, drink or no-drink in hand. They light a fire in the front bar in winter and it truely feels like you are at home in the living room with friends. I appreciate them so much. You can meet Craig and Janette here today.

For those of you who don’t know exactly where I’m from, this pub, The Royal Hotel is at Dalton. It’s an hour from Canberra and about 10 minutes off the Hume Highway at Gunning. Come and say hello if you are ever in the area.
