Earlier this month, I had the pleasure, and I mean pleasure, of opening Shani Nottingham’s ‘Little Nothings’ exhibition at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
I cannot speak more highly of Shani’s work. She creates these 3d circular installations from bread-tags donated and sent to her from all over the world. There’s a room in her home that is wall-to-wall with plastic bags full of tonnes and tonnes of donated tags.
Apart from being a really lovely individual, who I loved meeting at long last, Shani’s art process is fascinating, so here’s an excerpt from my welcome note. Enjoy.
