Retreating indoors
As it gets colder and damper, we retreating further and further inside. I pull hauls of reading material from the bookcase and the bedside pile grows taller. I’m ok with it ......
Because I know there are many cold and wet months ahead - I will make my way through it. Over coffee this morning, I indulged in my new purchase The Land Gardeners, Cut Flowers by Bridget Elworthy and Henrietta Courtauld, gee it’s inspiring it just makes me want to overhaul the whole garden. I realise this is what winter is for, reading, dreaming, scheming and then finally resting on some sort of vaguely attainable plan as Spring approaches later on.
I cannot wait to bring you our Garden podcast. I decided against releasing it in Winter because, of course, none of us are in the garden, but maybe that was wrong? Maybe Winter is the best time to engage and inspire, when we all have a little more time to dream wildly, not restrained by what’s actually practical for my and your patch of dirt no matter the size.
A magpie has set up shop just outside the kitchen and the warbling is something else, I’m constantly trying to preserve it via recording on my phone, but they are smart little thin…
