Reading rituals, Richard Flanagan and a new mantra.
It's a good edition of the newsletter today, people.
The above mantra is my wish for you this week. Be happy on purpose struck a chord with me - and this week I’m going to be here for it. I hope you love todays edition, it’s really bursting with lots of great stuff - I love the new Instagram accounts this week, and the podcasts, and the articles to read for that matter. It’s been a good week and if I stick to the happy on purpose mantra next week is going to be a good one too. And something to look forward to, next week we are launching the Company on Sunday’s 2023 Christmas Gift List; a very special (and beautiful) creation by Thea Harrington, giving you a peek into some of our favourite Australian Bush Businesses.
Podcast playlist
I feel like I hit the podcast jackpot this week - I listened to some real goodies.
How could it be that I have never actually heard Richard Flanagans voice before? This, I think, is my favourite interview of 2023. I was utterly enthralled.
This episode of Read This with Charlotte Wood made me go and buy her latest book Stone Yard Devotional immediately. (Also just saw that Read This’s latest interview is with Richard Flanagan too)
And for something not book related, the How to Be Happy podcast is great in general and this episode with Hannah Stenning has me rethinking long camping holidays with our babies. Thanks Smithers for drawing my attention to this pod. A new fave.

The emotions of starting a new school via ABC Online.
The Last Lighthouse Keeper in America; The Cricket World Cup final between Australia and India is on tonight, I will be watching, but only with one eye as I have set this aside to read, while sipping on a cup of tea.
New newsletters
By Jodi Wilson, author of Practising Simplicity.Guys, if you have friends, relatives, acquaintances of the work kind, anyone who you think would enjoy Company on Sunday’s could you do me a favour this week and put it on your to-do list to email them a copy via this button - and then explain to them why you like the newsletter because a personal recommendation, as we know, is worth more that it’s weight in gold. Many thank you’s forever. Sx
