Introducing Daily Routines
A new bite sized podcast for your to share with the gals on the group chat.
I’m sad because I’ve have dropped (like hotcakes) the early morning routine that I worked so hard to create over the past few months. The morning started at 5.30am, involved meditation (I know, right), then coffee, writing and some quiet time before the kids yelled into the kitchen. Now before you roll your eyes at this, I know it seems idealistic but for the last few years I have really resented my sluggish starts to each day. I had getting the kids dressed, fed, lunches packed and out the door by 20 mins down to a fine art and it all felt pretty lame. Late last year I interviewed Katrina Myers for Graziher’s Life on the Land and something resonated. My routine changed, I felt proud (and not smug) and the world spun around in a bit of a better way.
This new podcast, Daily Routines, aims to give you an unashamed insight into the triumphs and struggles of a woman’s day. You will hear from women ordinary and extraordinary. It’s not designed to make you feel bad, it’s designed to make all of us feel heard and provide a resource that showcases what good days and bad days look like, how we get through them and how we don’t.
This week, because its launch week, we’re whetting the appetite with Daily Routines from three wonderful but very different women from all corners of Australia. For your next instalment, tune in each Tuesday morning at 6am for 10-15 minute of Daily Routines magic.
So…… if you have a group chat with the girls, PLEASE share these podcasts. Ask your nearest and dearest, in all circles to listen in and follow/subscribe so they can join in each week, heck they can even come on as a guest if they want to. Just contact me here on Instagram.
There’s already been a mountain of goegrous feedback about this new podcast so thank you for being generous with you time (to listen) and your fingers (to type out a message). Happy and excited! Sxx
PS: Apologies, this newsletter is late. I blame a lack of routine (!), but good news is you’ll have another one arriving in your inbox in a few days time. Two in one week. Hip Hip.
Podcast Playlist
Well of course, if it’s anything this week it’s got to be Daily Routines
Meg Bignell hates mornings, walks 8km daily and fold washing during her lunch break
ABC TV presenter Rachel Pupazzoni needs an empty inbox to start work, colour codes her clothes and loves pilates.
Katrina Myers comes out of the stalls strongly with meditation, coffee, writing and exercise all before breakfast. I’ve tried!!
Also on the Spotify Company on Sunday playlist this week …….. I’ve gone all English.
There’s something uber calming about this podcast about the seasons, plants in the garden and produce growing in glut quantities and just general green-thumb-ness.

Haven’t listened to this one yet but as I’m starting a new routine this week - noting some daily delights could become a thing. Via The Wintering Sessions

This pile of things to read
This take on Foot and Mouth Disease when it arrived in Dumfries, Scotland in 2001.
Fascinating conversation I heard as I drove to town this morning about Platypus’ in Australia, their decline and their personalities.
And my regular garden stalk walk.
Something else to celebrate;
Last week the Graziher team was notified its been shortlisted for not one, but two Mumbrella Publish Awards! Hooray, it’s so very exciting for us. Definitely won’t be expecting any further accolades but this recognition is more than enough.
We were shortlisted for:
Best Podcast: ‘Behind the scenes of Nicola Forrest AO’s life as a wife and a mother’ – Life on the Land, Graziher
Best Launch/Re-Launch of the Year. (This I had nothing to do with, but bravo to all at Graziher!)
Here is the shortlist which in itself is a wonderful resource of excellent and upcoming content producers in Australia.
This is so timely for me. The pandemic years coincided with the end of the school years. This has left my days feeling somewhat after hoc and adrift still. Desperately hoping to find some inspiration here.
