Outside of the house: The crabapple has unfurled itself this week and the strong spring winds have smattered its blossom likes snow on the veranda. It always amazes me how fleeting its beautiful blossom is. The soundtrack of the garden right now is hum of bees, and everything is nesting it seems, yesterday I watched finches battle to pick up a single white feather and the sparrows have been dropping sploges of mud everywhere as they rustle to build their cradles.
Inside the house: I’m in a reading slump. I had a mid-morning bath this week to try and break it and I’m going to have to work hard at it I think. Why does this happen?! The bedside stack below is the books I have ticked off of late. All My Wild Mothers was the pick, next to Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow which will be converted to film by Paramount Pictures. The story of how it became an ‘unexpected bestseller’ is worth a read too. A win of late has been my ‘out-of-bed’ time. between 6 and 630am! Life like this is much better and I’m feeling smug about it. And finally, Spring has hit me too. I’m nesting. I’ve vacuumed the cutlery drawer, reordered the tupperware, wiped down walls and packed away the footy gear (hooray).
