I knew this newsletter wasn’t going to arrive in your inbox his morning and rather than rise early and pull it together at haste, I did not.
I slept in, made a coffee, cleaned out the boys TV room so they can watch the cricket and make new squalor, I then cleaned our other living room so it can be a tiny retreat if only for a few days, I folded the anthill of clean clothes and started to pack away the school uniform for the year (yay) then we finished decorating the tree and I criss-crossed fairy lights down our hallway - bringing to life the twinkle of Christmas magic I had been imagining for weeks. We did some baking in the kitchen and now I’m sitting down to write to you. Thanks for being patient today. I know you know.
