How to do Beef Week 24'
In the final countdown to Beef Week, this edition has tips and recommendations to get you 'beefing' at your finest.
Beef Week is back in 2024 and said to be the beefiest one yet. If you’re venturing to Rockhampton for the week of learning, sharing and networking here are my top tips.

WEAR: Put your best fashion foot forward. You’re about to see the some of the best ‘ag’ street fashion. Think Axel Mano hats, heirloom pearls, linen shirt-dresses for days, elegant Alemais evening frocks and IvyLee Copenhagen boots. Consider yourself warned - leave your work jeans at home and dress to impress.
SHOP: Retail therapy at its finest. Leave your other half to “shop” the headbails and weighscales so you can sneak away to Something Different. This not-so-hidden gem has all the fashion, jewellery and homeware labels you know and love, as well as the ones you need to know about. SD are active on socials with their sales, new finds and general hilarious mischief.
DINE: Laneway Restaurant at Headricks Lane. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the showgrounds and retreat to Headricks Lane for a superb meal in an industrial chic setting; you’d be forgiven to think you were in a Melbourne laneway. The espresso martinis and wagyu asian beef is calling your name.
I’m not even going to try to recommend seminars, breakfasts and demonstrations because there are plenty to choose from; whatever takes your fancy you’ll find something to attend to learn, immerse and socialise.
I will say this, be brave and introduce yourself to the person sitting next to you. You never know who you might meet, or where it might take you. That’s my favourite part of Beef; the opportunities are what you make them.

If you want to improve your dinner-table chat with some fun trivia, have a listen to Car Trip Trivia on your next drive to footy training or home from Grandma’s house. Even fun for when you have the big kids in the car… they may even learn something. My general knowledge isn’t great, so this ep. with movie quotes was fun.

This is our last newsie with Sorority. We’ve adored getting to know Cara, her story and her love of liberty. Skye’s conversation with Cara for Company is what the poddy is all about - a new clothing label born in Roma, Queensland with a direct line to the people in charge of Liberty in London with shirts manufactured at Lake Como in Italy. It can happen in the bush, not just in the cities. And we are here to celebrate it.
