There is so much style and talent coming to the forefront of fashion right now in rural and regional Australia, especially when it comes to designing clothing. Connectivity is making quick work of geographic divides and ateliers are more accessible now than ever. We so often see the end products, but there’s a lot that goes into it, and its good stuff – its great stuff.
Holly Goodman, the woman behind Peter Bill, knows well and truly the amount of effort and time that goes into design. “That time and effort needs to be noticed,” says Goodman. The Rural Runway is Goodman’s latest creative spark. An intimate gathering of people in the Tamworth community, who love fashion and love supporting small business, coming together for an exclusive spring-summer fashion show.
“You’ve got runways and whatnot in the city, but we are smaller businesses, trying to do our best,” she says, “and we want to showcase in our own towns.”
