All bush mums know you have to take virtually everything, including the kitchen sink, with you when you go away. Highchairs, playmats, portacots – the whole shebang. Doesn’t leave much room in the car for a canned goods stock up or a few extra cartons of wine. Charmaine Batt from The Little Batt House in Longreach saw her full car, a gap in the market and a house with a lot of potential.
Hitting the AirBnb market in 2023, the Little Batt House is the home away from home you knew you needed but didn’t know it existed…until now. She is speaking here with the lovely Thea Harrington.
T: Where do you live, and with you?
C: I live 50km west of Stonehenge, south of Longreach, on a station called Warbreccan. My husband and two kids and I live in one house. We have another house on the place, occasionally we have some employees stay - my husband does a bit of fencing so he needs a little hand here and there.
